Yay for another great ultrasound...Praise GOD!!! This morning, the twins looked great. Brennan is still head down and quite squished to my right side evidently lol. He has an estimated weight of 5lb. 9oz. (or 2530 grams) which is the 59%tile!!!! His head circumference is estimated to be 32.3 cm which is the 95%tile :) I think that's pretty funny since Scott and I both have pretty small heads. By the way, these percentiles are for singletons...not twins!! He is
growing quite well! May is a little behind but still growing very well. She was estimated at 4lb. 11oz. (or 2130 grams) which is still a whole pound more than our last ultrasound 2.5 weeks ago. That is the 36%tile for those of you who are curious. Her head circumference is 31.3 cm which is the 69%tile. Based on these measurements, Brennan is measuring a full week ahead of schedule (for a singleton!) and May is 4 days behind. The high risk doctor was very pleased with their growth and the amniotic fluid levels. Since I haven't had any issues with diabetes or high blood pressure, and the twins are growing well, and they have 2 separate placentas, they decided to skip the non-stress test. Evidently, it just wasn't necessary. This could quite possibly be our last ultrasound. Next Thursday, we go back for the delivery consult and the high risk doctor will decide at that time if we want to schedule another ultrasound for 37 weeks. Of course, there is the possibility that May and Brennan could be here before that. May was still breech and evidently her head is starting to get more of an oblong shape because of being in that position...hopefully it will fix itself after she is born! I am still leaning toward the scheduled c-section, but I'm trying to keep an open mind for next week's appointment with the high risk doctor. I also have a regular OB appointment next Monday.
Oh, and there were no pictures today. Brennan is just too squished and May had her hand up over her face and the membrane was covering her face like a veil. From what we did see, she looks just as beautiful as we have imagined :)
I am so overjoyed today to see that my babies are doing so well. I can't believe I'm carrying around 10lb. 4oz. worth of babies right now...and I'm really not that uncomfortable! It is truly possible that we could be holding babies in our arms in about 2 weeks...that is soooo soon!! I'm really looking forward to meeting my babies!!!!!
Like we chatted about the other day - I'm just praying for wisdom for you and Scott, and for the doctors, and praying that the Lord would give you peace in whatever decision you make about the delivery! Glad to know that everything still looks good - that's awesome!
ReplyDeleteI'm so grateful that you've been able to carry these babies so long and not become like our patients we see who are soooooo premature. I'm glad that you've carried long enough and that there haven't been a lot of complications, and that if they were born today they would do ok. I don't think any of us can wait to meet those two babies of yours!!!
