Off Work!

Today I was scheduled to see a midwife rather than my normal doctor, but as it turned out there was another OB there and he had time in his schedule so I saw him instead. It turned out to be the best thing that could have happened...we have now officially switched doctors and I am off work for the rest of the pregnancy. I am so relieved...I didn't have to do any persuading what-so-ever. This doctor completely agreed with me and said that he likes to be cautious with twin pregnancies due to their higher risk for preterm labor...which is what I have been saying all along. Not only that, but he said I really should have been having appointments every 2 weeks after 20 weeks...which I wasn't. So now I have switched over to this doctor and I feel much more comfortable about being monitored more closely. I know that not every complication can be prevented by closer supervision, but it still makes me feel more at ease. At least my stress level is sure to come down. No more switching back and forth between nights and days and feeling rushed to get things done on my days off when I should be resting! The new OB did order the glucose tolerance test and a couple of blood tests which I plan to get done sometime this week. I will be 25 weeks tomorrow and there is a high likelyhood that the babies could be arriving in 10-11 more weeks!

Our new appointment schedule is:
May 6th OB
May 7th Ultrasound
May 20th OB

Thank you all for your prayers and support through this stressful ordeal...and for your continued prayers for all three of us!!

On another note, I just have to say how tremendously thankful I am for my wonderful family and friends who showered me with their love and support, and GREAT GIFTS for May and Brennan this past Saturday. It was a lot of fun moving stuff into the nursery! I have to say I have never enjoyed washing and folding laundry as much as I have with the baby stuff! Thanks!

  6. Leah,
This is such an answer to prayer! I am so happy for you:) Now you have less to worry about. I was thinking you should be seen more since you're having twins, so it's good this doctor is being more cautious! If nothing else, it is going to put your mind at ease knowing they are doing well!
